Default dont know how to plug oil dip stick hole on the engine

On my new engine there's two holes for a dip stick so depend on which side you put your dip stick you need to fill the other one.

As a put the dip stick one the driver's side it left a open hole on the passenger side to be fill. I dont know how to fill that hole. There's no treads to screw any bolt. I have contack Gm and can't seem to have that plug either.

Is there any that have seen that before ?

The companies that supply engines with dipstick holes on both sides usually send a plug to go into the hole you don't use. If you didn't get one with your engine, you might want to contact the supplier. It's basically just a freeze plug.

This is a quote from the gm website.
Oil Pan / Filter / Adapter / Dipstick:
The 350/290 HP engine block has provisions for both right-hand and left-hand dipsticks. The 350/290 HP engine
includes a 4-quart oil pan Part number 10066039 which has the “double bump out” for both dipstick designs.
The oil dipstick for the 350/290 HP engine for the right-hand (passenger) side of the block is 10190942 (indicator)
and 12552920 (tube). If not using right-hand dipstick, use plug 09421743.
The oil dipstick for the 350/290 HP engine for the left-hand (driver) side of the block is 03951576 (indicator), and
03876870 (upper tube). P/N 03951600 (lower tube) is installed at the factory. If not using left-hand dipstick, use
plug 93415510 to prevent an oil leak. The 350/290 HP engine assembly includes an oil filter adapter but no oil filter
element. The 350/290 HP uses an AC # PF 454 or PF1218 oil filter

A freeze plug!?!??!??! Isn't the dipstick hole about 3/8"? Go to GM parts counter and order the number part in the post above!

Don't get your shorts in a twist....it's just a term. The actual name for that type of part is a 'cup-plug'...a stamped [sheet] steel plug formed in the shape of a cup and used to seal off machined holes. 'Freeze' plugs are just large cup-plugs.

I had the same problem with the same engine. I was kinda disappointed. There was no documentation, no recommendation for oil or break in procedure, no plug for the extra dip stick hole, nothing at all. Just kinda like "Ok, here's your engine."

I used a correct diameter freeze plug from the parts store up the street. 2700 miles and no leaks.

There is no document how to break the engine which oil to use.

After "rcread" reply, I finaly found in a small bag supply with the engine a plug for the other hole. In that bag was two timing indicator to screw on the timing belt cover.

I tought it has just the timming indicators in that bag that why i didn't check further because i had my own chrome indicator.

I think GM is doing budget cuts on paper. My 385 Fast Burn didn't any paper work at all either.
