first vette
I just sent the deposit on this today. I have wanted a Stingray for years and as celebration for just getting promoted to E7 in the Air Force my wife finally relented.
It is a 72 convertible. 454 automatic. air, PS, PB, PW.
The engine has been rebuilt a year ago. The tranny is brand new as well as the differential. New bumpers are all around.
I am a complete newbie when it comes to Chevys. The only other experience I have with classic cars is the 68 GT Mustang that is going to accompany this one in the garage.
Id like to say that I am not going to do any modifications to it but that never ever works. Id welcome any advice.

I am hoping so, the dealer I bought it from said that they have put about 9K in repairs on it. It is supposed to be delivered next week sometime. Tomorrow isnt soon enough.
I think that the only thing I am going to do to it is convert the exhaust to side pipes. Those just look cool.

thats a good price if its rust free. i bought my 72 BB auto coupe for 30k and i think i got a good deal. my interior is like brand new and underside is as clean as top with all new buschings and so on. mine has original motor and trans too. my frame and birdcage are in perfect shape also. yours looks to be nice as well. just make sure you check it out very good. also take that 454 off air cleaner, 72 didnt come with it. also i think leather seat cars should have **** rug on doors, cant tell if yours does. let us know how it turns out and good luck, nutsy.

baxsom,
Certainly a wonderful looking '72 model. I also have a classic white car.
As an above poster pointed out, your car should have an aluminum trim piece with nylon cut pile carpet on the lower portion of door panels, that's part of the custom interior package.
Engine bay looks very clean, for your information the car originally came with A.I.R. emissions set-up.
