Before Lars, I had good luck with Holley rebuild from Autozone-but Lars says their quality is not what it used to be. I might send them a Holley, but not a Q-jet. I also had very good luck with the Carburetor Shop in (Ontario?) California. I know ~10 years ago, many magazine builds used them also.

I took my qjet to Cliff Ruggles, he's a great guy. He spent three hours explaining and modifying the carb while I watched. After it was done he bolted my carb on his 11 second 455 GtO and we went for a ride, I was impressed. Basically everthing he did to the carb is in his book, which is layed out one step at a time with large color pictures, its worth buying.

lars wouldn't do my tri-power when he was doing carbs, He also didn't know of anyone he could send me too. Does anyone know of someone who can work wonders on tri-carbs aswell as lars did on 4 barrels?

that's an easy question for me... my dad. He is 77 and been a mechanic for many years(owned his own shop for many years, head mechanic back in the 60's in dealerships, etc.). He isn't really into retuning carbs, but he can rebuild them as good as anyone.

I've been rebuilding my own carbs for over 30 years now. I ain't shot myself for screwing one up yet. Except for that one time in..............................well, nevermind, that was only a close call.
That's not a volunteer statement, either
