Just got my new power antenna hooked up a couple of weeks ago and then it all of a sudden stopped going up. Thanks to the Forum search I was able to diagnois that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my 79 from the fuse box all the way back to the antenna motor. Turns out the new power antenna has a problem. Guess I'll spend a few more moments and tear the darn thing out and pull it apart to see where the issue is. I suspect it is in the UP contact switch.

who'd you get it from and was there a brand? I don't want to go through the same thing!

Mid America Design but I'm not bashing them. I'm sure their supplier is used by most other resellers.

Feel your pain. The best possible fix is to rebuildthe original. Went through 2 "Delco replacements" in about a month. Returned the first and got a replacement for it. Returned the second and it was "out of stock". Been over two years and have not got a replacement from The Last Detail. Rebuilt the original and is still working.
