Right-Hand Drive ’69 ZL-1 ?????
It was a slow day at work so I’m perusing the 2008 “Corvette A Day Calendar” that my daughters gave me for Christmas when I come across July 16th featuring the yellow ZL-1 car…I took a moment to admire and wonder at the ZL-1; see scan below.
Then it hit me, why is the master cylinder/power brake booster on the other side of the car? I’ve only seen that on right-hand drive cars. I guess you could put it over there but it’d make breaking from the left side an engineering challenge. I thought they only made two ’69 ZL-1s and I’ve never read where one is a right-hand drive…then it hit me, the image on the calendar has been reversed. I held it up to the light and sure enough, reversed image…again, slow day at work, just thought I’d share. I’ll proof the rest of the calendar later this week if things don’t pick up...

No RHD '69 Corvettes
Let's remember, GM did not build any RHD corvettes back then. There are some converted cars running around, but they were done by ambitious owners (or shops). And certainly even those do not have the master cylinder or other bits move to opposite side of engine compartment.

I think we all agree, reversed image but I am surprised that got through QC before printing. BTW, things are still slow, I've proofed through August of 08, it's all good .
Maybe I should contact the printer and inquire about some free-lance work

As you can see, the steering is definitely on the left side.
