Default Heater core swap on a 69

So I have the dash, map pocket, ducts removed from the inside. To replace the heater core on my 69 ac car do I only need to remove the inner fan housing or do I need to need to start removing the evaporator housing on the engine comartment side? I lloked through the factory manual and assembly manual but it still isn't clear to me. Thanks

According to the Chassis Service Manual the heater core comes out from inside the car. The only things done on the engine side of the fire wall are to disconnect the heater hoses, and remove the nuts from the distributor studs. Section 15-48.

Alan.
