Default New Flowmasters on (pics)

Could not wait any longer, new 40 flowmasters on the old 73
The first pic is the old custom made mufflers that were installed in 2002 when the vette had it's body off.

New Flows, installed up & out of the way.

The vette is still on ramps but I hope when on the ground the pipes will not show as much.

What do you guys think, leave the pipes silver or paint black?

Flat black! Barbeque grill black works well.

How do they sound?

The 40's have a very aggressive sound. I looked at Magnaflow & the 50 series which are both quieter on the inside & out vs the 40's.
I have Borla Stingers on my M6 - C5 & love the sound, so I'm use to the loud sound.

Just asked because I had 40's on my 79 till this spring when I went with Hooker side exhaust. I liked the throaty sound and they did not seem to loud, but after I went to the side exhaust, I realized the Flowmasters did have resonance inside the cockpit. I still liked the sound though.

I say leave them silver.

The new mufflers are flatter so they will be more hidden…looks much better

How about posting a sound clip

Default Neither >>>>

I didn't want bright silver for mine, and to me flat black looks like a cop out. So... I shot mine with a high temp "cast iron" look paint. Shot both the Flowmasters and pipes with that and it looks great.
