little bubble's on paint
i have little bubble's on the hood and on the rear beam on the top of my 76. it looks like there is air or or ges unther the paint and that makes the bubbles.
the car was repainted 8 mounts ago and waxd 3 weeks later. the shop where i painted the car told me it's becose of the old fiberglass. are they right? what can i do to fix this problem?

I am unable to view the pics but if it looks like air bubbles that sounds like fish eye. or solvent pop This is when the paint has a chemical reaction due grease or something and it seperates. This should have happend when painting the car. If these holes appeared after you waxed it then it could be air pockets in the clear and they become more prominent after wax because the wax gets caugt inside and makes it stand out.
The only fix I know is if they are not too deep it could be wet sanded and buffed out.

It is not a good idea to wax a car so soon after painting, traps offgassing solvent and causes the problems you've described.
1 month minimum, some painters suggest much longer. Many body shops allow weeks in between primer, filler, primer, sealer, basecoat...yet another reason why quality paint jobs take a long time.
Who waxed it -- you or the paint shop?
Good luck,
Steve

With the previous posting above... Sounds like its the Paint Shop's problem. Even with their excuse of calling the fiberglass old... then they should done the correct prep and layering before painting.
With you not touching the paint job and they advised all the steps... Its their issue... and get them to own up and fix it!
Hopefully they will stand behind their work.

Old fiberglass has nothing to do with blister on the paint. if it was old fiberglass they would have seen the blisters when they put on the sealer coat. its all in the prep job, a drop of oil on the hood and then wiped off ( not clean propperly ) will cause the paint to blister.
