Different idea on paint color

The code # probably varies with the year of the Ferrarri paint, just like with other car makes. The shading by year group may also vary slightly due to a slightly different blend.
I know that my numbers are correct for the colors as I went down to PPG paint in Orange County, CA and looked through their catalogs and ordered the paint directly.
Also, I have the two cans (this and Canna Di Fucile) and am looking at the actual number on the can. PPG is blue letters as a "watermark" so I think I know of which I speak.
OEM 704C Ferrari
BC37032 A, GRIGIO TITANIO MET
I can also provide the mix contents off the can if you want to compare those.
I had it done 2 years ago. Based on the pics, yours looks like a whole different color. But then, pics do that.

So why the variance in what you have and what I have and what the Auto Color Library has I do not know.
BTW the 2nd body shop repainted the tail Cap AFTER I had the car initially painted and you can not tell any difference in the color - I gave him the PPG code of 36801 and if you go to the AutoColorLibrary site you will see the name matches to what you have as well so go figure.

Yes, I followed the link. Like I said originally, mine is from a late model Ferrarri while yours is obviously from an earlier model.
Quote the % of each admixture off your can and I'll tell you if they are the same color.

Sorry, no I don't need to "Learn any more", if I wanted to be a painter I would have taken that up a long long time ago. I took a different career path, but thanks for the suggestion. What I will do is pass both codes along to my body shop and ask them. Since "That" is the career path the shop owner took, I am sure, that he being the expert will know an answer to this curious problem.

Every time I see a picture of your car, I get really jealous.
Beautiful car

3 or 4 of us with elkhearts have all posted in the same thread before, and none of ours look the exact same. the pics i put up earlier are also elkheart, and they look worlds apart from the other one that was just posted here. both done in lacquer.

Yes - it's stock.
Depending on the sun, camera, and believe it or not polish and wax used, etc. the color does tend to look a bit different.
Here's a couple more - same car different wheels:

I agree - light and background really change the look of this color. My paint is also 22 years old I am sure they all look a bit different after a while
