Drivers Side Firewall Brake Mount Reinforcement
This is part number 3963183 in a 72 and we need a new one of these. After poking around a little bit online, this doesn't seem to be a readily available part which means I can't easily check what years I could pull one out of.
This is the metal reinforcement piece that is riveted to the firewall with a fiberglass cover over it that your brake master cylinder or brake booster attaches too, the pedals, steering column etc.
Can anyone help or give me an idea how to figure this out?

Hi JC,
It appears the 3968183 was used at least from 69-72 for standard brake cars.
Google 'GM 3968183' and look at the 'images' then look at the 'big city corvette' site.
Regards,
Alan
