depends on your coverage.
I pay about $230. per year for my 73 , collector car policy insured at appraised value with ING. It does limit the use to 5,000km per year, no drivers under 25, cant't be left outside at night etc

I pay $400 for full coverage all year round. Straight drivers policy with no restrictions. Be careful with the classic car policies many things are not covered. Ask your broker if you are covered under a classic car policy if you drove your car to work and it was stolen there....most won't cover this or to the mall for that matter.
It helps that my wife is a broker...

I`m insured through Lant & Co., www.lant-ins.ca
Yes no driving back and forth to work, on shopping trips ( how much stuff are you putting in a vette anyway )or on extened vacations
( minimal extra insurance ), no driver under 25 and have a daily driver vehicle.
Although for these stipulations, I have no mileage limitations and agreed value of vehicle.
For me this is the best way to go.

Here in the wonderful people's socialist republic with gov't run ICBC,I'm paying $721/year which includes registration, but I don't have an appraised value for the car so if it gets wrecked,I may get screwed. For those who don't know, the only liability insurance available in BC is through the gov't agency-ICBC.As of last year you can get your comp and collision through private insurance companies, which can be a lot cheaper than ICBC,at least it was for my Harley. One benefit they have available is the "collector" plate that is somewhat restrictive on how much you can drive and modifications from stock are not allowed, but your premium drops to about $200/year!I'll be applying for that after the current tags expire.
