Default Different idea on paint color

I am ready to paint my 72 convertible. I want something a little more modern with some snap but I do not want a color that looks out of place on a c3. Many new car colors jump out, but I have seen some c3's with a very nice color from a new vehicle look down right out of place. I think it is more than just someones taste, matching color, body style, wheels to modern times is an art, maybe.

So anyone run into a modern color that doesnt look out of place on a c3 but looks like a color chevy would have made an option if they made the c3 today.

I have a numbers 69 (painting it stock Monza red), I have a 61 (stock Roman red), I will be doing a 73 numbers 454 vert (stock Silver).

The car in question is going to be a daily driver, zz4 TPI 5 speed. Original Daisy Mags, (maybe new wheels for a new color will be needed). It was originally Ontario Orange, I have seen a few ontario orange c3's, but many looked bla, a few look great but maybe the formula was change, I am not nessesarily a orange fan so I do not want to take a chance, except I like new vet orange. Maybe a modern color but similar to an older stock color, like a new orange or new blue. I am not patial on any color just want something snappy. I like green but Elkhart green looks dated and I have not seen a new green that I would gamble with.

ideas?
Thanks
cal

Since your going the resto-mod route how about 2008 Jetstream Blue?

My all-time favorites are 70 Steel Cities grey and Mulsanne Blue

Ferrarri PPG 704C "Grigio Titanio Metallic" (#37032).
Makes all of the stock Corvette silver and grey paints pale by comparison.

Ontario Orange and Elkhart Green accounted for over 34 percent of paint jobs in 1972, but try and find then now.

Default Jetstream Blue

Jetstream Blue or Atomic orange may work on a c3, maybe not the orange, I will try and find them on a 08.

Actually 1970 was Laguna grey. Here's an example of a friends 70 LT-1. This color is a bit bluer than SC grey which has a bit of a green hue to it.

house of kolor has some very nice stuff you might want to look into. depending on what products you are looking at they have some very modern colors that would not look out of place on a c-3.

Default Wheels make this,

This is good, my old daisy's would not work with this color, wheels make a difference with color.

Late model Ferrarri's. I gave the paint code #'s. Just go to PPG and ask for that #.

BTW, the stinger and stripe are PPG 703c.97, Canna Di Fucile Metallic 37032 (gun metal).

I have been having the same dilemma trying to find the right color for my car. I have been all over the place from blues to orange to gold trying to find a color, Here are some of my spray outs.
