WOW
I saw auction pictures of that car and it looked to be in perfect (restored) condition. Is the market truly this soft, or were there mechanical issues that weren't disclosed?

Not sure, I was watching the live webcast.....they didnt say anything about the mechanics of the car.......maybe just not enough interest in it.

Great info, much appreciated, thanks.

The early returns for C3s are not good, but it seems like there are always deals to be had on Thursday and Friday. I'm glad I wasn't there, I might've gotten into trouble, there were some steals. The gentleman I bought my car from was there, selling. They had him on camera for quite a while while they were working him over to lift his reserve. Mecum is relentless!

Seems like the "tiers" in the market at these auctions are getting more defined, rightly or wrongly, and collectors aren't paying those high-$20k to mid-$30k numbers that decent restored C3s have been bid in the past, for cars in that "tier." I'm surprised it hasn't happened before now, frankly, what with how the economy and banks are doing. A buying opportunity, IMHO -- If I had a place to store another one (or two!)

Might be a better car than one of the pretty ones, but with that on the title it should be worth substantially than a regular title.
Could be a wreck, stolen/recovery, flood, burn, pieced together etc.
The issuing state will have the details on file.

I am not reviewing the options on the car, just doing a copy/paste from the Mecum website...the seller provided the info.

More to come.
