1968 Fiber Optics identify lights question
I am trying to identify what lights are monitored through both the front and rear fiber optics systems.
I am assuming the front ones are red for taillights, blue for high beams and white for headlights?
Should the front ones get brighter or flash when you push the brake pedal or for the turn signals?
Is the rear monitor just for turn signals and license plate light?
Thanks

The front fiber optics on mine are for front turn signals, low beam and high beam. (orange, red, blue) The three towards the back of the console are for tail lights and license plate light.
They will get brighter when you step on the brake. It is just a simple system that is passing the light along the fiber, so if the source gets brighter, the indicator gets brighter.

Hi B15,
There's a little seal, "like a 1/4" long piece of soda straw", that fits at the rear of the headlights where the fiber-optics sockets connect. These often got lost or just weren't put back on when the headlights were changed over the years. They do help a little. I think having everything clean helps a lot.
AIM UPC 12, Sheet A4. Item #4, it even has a part number.
Regards,
Alan
