Okay i asked for a classic car for my bday i was hoping for a 66 chevelle but i got stingray which im loving so far i got it running but now i got some work left on it what does everyone eles think and how much work do you guys think i got left and how much money am i looking at I got her to run ordered some interior she hasn't run since the 80s got her for 500
Not a bad birthday gift at all but it's going to take you quite a bit to get it looking really nice but once you do...it'll be worth it and as posted...the forum people will be very helpful.
I really wish you had gotten your 66 chevelle
For the money that you are about to pour into that thing, you would have gotten more value out of the Chevelle.
Anyway, money aint everything.. is it?
You will have a great time restoring it. There are a lot of helpful folks on the forum.
well im not hating it its fun so far i wanna do some work to the engine though i dont think that 225 will cut it i mean its a stingray but does anyone know some engine work that would be easy to get some more hp out of it ?
well im doing most of the work myself i feel if i learn to do it then when something goes bad i can fix it myself also i saw a pic of a vette with a black paint job but the bumpers where white with a white strip down the middle anyone eles seen it i wanna paint it that color but i cant find the pic anymore
Before you go too far you need to make sure the frame and birdcage are in good or at least reasonable shape. It is a waste of money to put a new interior into a car that has a frame that is rotting apart. Post some pics of the underside of the car and there are plenty of people who can comment on the condition of the frame and drivetrain.

Great advice...I'd do this first before going any further. With a C3 resto it all starts here........

Congrats.
Start w/ tuning & then exhaust start w/ hi flow cat. & mufflers like Dynomax Super Turbo.
Take this advice, don't spend money on small stuff yet. Get the car driving safely, stopping safely, then get the body complete and the doors and hood fitting great. Once you get this far, then you can put the new interior in it and start taking dates out in it.
