I have a heavy vibration in the rear at 70+ mph. I live in Sugar Hill GA. I want alignment, suspension, control arms, UJoint checked along with getting wheels spin balanced. Any recommendations on where to go? Also, any other troubleshooting besides what I have listed? Susie G

Do you still get the vibration if you throw it in neutral? If so, it's not the drivetrain. Are you running original wheels? If so, it's probably a bad wheel or wheels. Especially if you have the aluminum wheels.

i have no idea where you can go in your area but you have the right idea in that without all the rear suspension parts tight you can never achieve a smooth ride and control.with the unique rear suspension on these cars i would only consider a shop familiar with vintage vette's. i had such a vibration and it was not 1 thing but a combination of many,including the tires and transmission to rear end angle.best of luck to you.

Mine had a vibration in the rear years ago. Turned out it was the rear main drive shaft yoke. It was cracked where the U joint was held. I ordered a new yoke and had a machine shop weld it in.

These guys are close- they do a lot of older cars. Have done several Corvettes for me ( a couple C2's and a C3 ).

The driveshaft does not move with the suspension- so see if it (vibration) changes the RPM/Speed with a full tank versus empty. Last long trip (3000miles in a week) the vibration was at a higher speed when the tank was full- and changed as I drove. Was a rear wheel with a slight wobble.

If it doesn't change w/ weight in the back- then look at the driveshaft.
