I'm having my tach board replaced along with it being zeroed by your company. Do I need a tach filter or will it be ok to run without one. At this time there wasn't a filter and the tach did not work. Thanks

I'd run the filter.

The filter serves two purposes, first it knocks the square of the signal going into the tach... .which this is not a big deal because the chip on the board (and on the original board) will read both square and wave signals. But it also helps prevent voltage spikes from hitting the board... so better safe than sorry.
