Thank you, both set ups do the car justice.

The Nitto Invo 255/50r17s that were on the rear seemed to stick pretty well most of the time, and would do perfectly fine with a stock to mild build, but I have a 400 wheel hp LS swap with the T56 trans and 3.73 gears, so I really wanted some more traction.

16x245x60 I believe these are 4.5" backspace.
the 16" just clears the orginal parking brake bracket.

The 16x8 polished torq thrust IIs I had on the front of mine were 4 inch backspacing, -11mm offset (same as OEM wheels), part number VN5156861.

Those fit and look great. If you you get 4.5 inch backspace on an 8 inch wide wheel they will tuck into the fender 1/2 inch more, and might look a little funky in my opinion.

Also, there are not many tire options for 16 inch wheels, so you should really look up tire sizes before you decide on wheels. 15 inch wheels, and then 17 and 18 inch wheels have a lot more options to match the OEM tire sizes or bigger.

17x8 All around with Nitto 255/50zR17 give me a 27.1 inch diameter .... no mods have been done to suspension yet..and I did not have to remove EBrake bracket.

These look real good on your car, Jet.

Researching what sizes to go with on my '70 C3, 17x8" looks right to me, does anyone know if 265's would fit w/o rubbing?

Where did you get the red stripe on the rims?

18x10s all around with 285/35R18 tires. Torq Thrust II in gray. 5.6" back spacing if I remember right. I have small spacers (10mm I think?) because the rears were very close to the frame and would occasionally rub. Offset trailing arms as well.

theyre called rim savers. They're supposed to protect from curb rash but they give that red line look. They're also available in other colors.

I like them. The first rim I did looks okay but the 4rth rim I did looks perfect. Really easy to apply and they stay on really well. A cheaper way to get that look.

heres some close ups

Stayed on during a blow out and survived the old tire coming off and being replaced. I have a replacement strip but havent needed to put it on yet

Thats a sweet vette you got there. Looks like your using VB&P suspension. I picked some up this past spring, hoping to install it this winter. I hope my car looks as nice as yours does

I'd say yours looks even better! Must be the color . I like those red rim savers, never would have thought of that!
Its too bad VB&P went out of business, pretty happy with the suspension so far. If you have any questions with it feel free to send me a message (since you can't call them anymore).

Thanks! My buddy John has them too, thats why I grabbed them when I could. Hes given me the directions and made me the reinforcement discs as well. Hopefully I dont run into any problems........I'll start a winter projects thread here in a couple of weeks.

PS I stole the rimsavers idea from another forum member here a couple of years ago. I really like them alot
