Melting Slicks
Hi Jebby, from the pics it looks like a really nice car. I have a REALLY hard time believing it's a 5900 mile car, but the pedals and upholstery look good, the carpet has the right patina, etc., so maybe if there is documentation of the mileage. Regardless, it looks like a very nice car and, assuming the cage checks out, etc. this could be a very good purchase.
BTW, why do some owners use plastic fuel filters and rubber lines? On most of those plastic filters you can watch the sides bulge with each pulse of the fuel pump. Maybe they just want to try out their fire extinguishers?

Well, the advertiser is an idiot - 'rare chrome bumpers' - seems to me that every '71 came with chrome bumpers. Better check out the area, you might need serious firepower to get to it and get it out of there.

What does the underside look like?
For that kind of money it should be a very close to accurately restored or a pristine original.

Note that the listing said odometer was 5916 miles, not the actual mileage on the car. With an odometer that has only 5 digits, a 5916 reading does correspond to the 104,421 registry listed amount. So technically the listing was correct...
