Default Trailing arm re-inforcement on frame

Are these re-inforcement plates around the trailing arm mounts "Standard"!

How about this?

Hope to get a better look after blasting and see about getting a little touch up on the weld.

Yes, they are standard. And the fact that they are pushing out means they are rusted on the inside. They need to come off, the metal cleaned up, and replaced (if it were me and you are that close to it).

The parts are available from www.vetteproducts.net and others.

I'm not the best welder but it sort of went like:

Thanks for the information and pics. I got my frame back from the media blaster this morning and it looks like I will have to replace mine as well instead of just reinforcing the welds in place. I had already contacted the powdercoater and he even thought he may be able to finish it today which would of given me some time over the weekend to start some trial assembly. Oh well!! thing's like that happen with a 37 year old body!

How critical is the placement of the plate once you remove it? I planned on just marking center reference lines on the main faces to help in reinstalling the part after the area is dressed and ready. Thanks again for all the help.
