Default need help with carb

I installed a edelbrock carb and a high polished intake off of another engine. Now it won't idle but will run smoothly when I give it gas.

Ive read on here that if gas is dripping in the front port under the choke plate, this means theres trash in my carb. Is this true? This is what it is doing.

If its true then does anyone know the correct procedures for cleaning it out. Another post said to use a rag on the vacuum lines somehow.

If anyone has procedures on taking the carb apart to clean that would be great as well.

Help appreciated!

Thanks,
Justin

I wasn't very impressed with the Edelbrock I installed on my 80.. The stock Q-Jet was a better choice as I see it..
