Here is the first one I bought. I never had a Corvette before and thought I could just drop and engine in and go. Well I have learned about how much it would take to get it together. It will likely become my parts car. I have already found some small things. Between the 2 cars I might someday have one good one.
who feels it would be sacrilegious to fill the rear vertical bumper seam, and thinks thats one of the things that makes a 74 distinctive? ...and who wishes that seam wasn't there?
my car came with a new unmounted two piece hard rear bumper cover
Wouldn't consider it sacriledge but the body shop ordered a single piece replacement without split design line and had them replace it as I do like the distinctive look

My car is the first one shown in this thread. It has no seams front or rear as the previous owner had them all filled in when they painted the car. I love the look of an original car - but my car has modern wheels and paint - so I'm glad the seams are all gone.
Was that the original green? It looks nice. I wish my door gaps looked like that.
The car was originally dark green metallic with black interior. At some point in time prior to me, it got resprayed, althouh I beleive it was somewhat of a variation of the original color. When I bought the car, I remember the previous owner gave me a can of the green paint that the body shop must have used. I don't have the can anymore, but if my memory serves me correctly it was an 80's Cadillac green of some sort. I actually liked it a little better than the stock color to be honest.

I have see one or 2 74s that were the original green. I will say that it was kinda dull. Now paint has come a long way since 1974, but I think there were other greens in the early 70s Corvettes that had more pop. The 74 seemed to be a metallic olive drab. I do think that the car would look good with another dark green on it though. The car I just bought is green but was originally white. The motor does not match, so I don't feel tied to originality. There was a green on the C5 that I think was called dark Bowling Green Green. Anyhow, it is very attractive. I might try it when that time comes.
@ Paul- My lights are out of a Lincoln Navagator but I would recommend looking here . My lights weren't sealed so it took extra work to prevent water from being able to reach the bulb.
Madvette looks like you have some nice toys there
