#21
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who replied.. I have been looking to orderan HEI distributor for my 71 for a few weeks now and going back and forth looking at different ones. This topic made it an easy decision for me!

I have a Summit SUM-850001-T in my 72 that has just stripped the tacho drive gear. New replacement is about $250. Sounds like the Ecklers for $190 may be an option. Any one have a recommendation between these two?

Believe me, I am of the delusion that spending more means having a better product. I just couldn't see it with the distributors. Same thing, with same specs are on eBay for $70-80 delivered, and tax free! ;-) Just search; "hei tach"

I have been very happy with my Dragonfire HEI. Not sure if the bigger plug gap/spark buys you additional performance, but they are inexpensive and, so far, reliable.

Melting Slicks
I have one of these and it works fine, but the vac advance can was defective so had to spend another $20 for a new adjustable one.
