Seat Covers- Leather vs. Leather Like
Anyone that has gone with Leather Like seat covers from Corvette America please chime in with an opinion. My last set of leather seats didn't hold up very well and as I've got to get another set, I'm weighing the Leather Like option. As the color is 1974 Medium Saddle, I'm also wondering about color accuracy. I can get 2 sets of Leather Like for the price of Leather.
Thanks,
Fred Z.

I have oyster "like" in my car. Its a driver, not a NCRS car.
Love em. Look great, easy to clean. If I tear one its a semi cheap repair.
"Like" were priced right compared to leather.
Don't recall where I bought them though. C.A. or C.C., either one.

I just did leather like. There is a pic of the seats toward the end of the post. I really like them and they were a breeze to install.

To my eyes, they look great, especially for the money. For a driver, or a car I was flipping, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the leather-like, but if your worrying about originality or thinking NCRS, then stick with real leather.
As far as the color matching, I wouldn't be to concerned. Factory leather seats weren't all leather, they often used vinyl for the sides and seat back. I'm pretty sure that the vinyl CA uses for the leather-like covers, is the same vinyl they use for the seat backs on the leather covers.
If your really concerned about the color match, call Corvette America and ask them to send you a color swatch. They do this all the time for customers.

The car is a resto mod W/LS1 so on and so forth. Originallity is not a concern but it should look good. Thanks to those who have responded. Do any of you have close up pics of leather Like?

OK, closer up today with a little belly-button fluff that seems to have descended. Needs vacuuming. Heck, it's 45*F here and I am not motivated! The shine is from Meguiar's #40 vinyl conditioner.

These are 72 leather-like covers from Corvette America. They were easy to install and look and feel great.
The difference with leather-like seats are that they don't have the comfort weave inserts and are smooth like leather covers.

Pics of 1978 Oyster leather like:
Pics were taken to compare seat belt material color as opposed to the seats themselves. I think they look pretty good. They dont look shiney as the leather ones did once they aged. NO ARMOUR ALL in them. Mild soap and water, nothing else to clean them.

Excuse the gay bubba'd seat belts. They are being changed soon:

I might have a set of leather seat covers and foam from Corvette America from these seats I was going to put in my 74' if you are interested...they were never used. And are brand new.

I bought 'like' seat covers and am pleased with the quality. I also didn't go with leather because of durability. Vinyl seems to last longer.

I recovered the seats in my wife's 69 with leather like. They turned out beautiful! And, they're easy to clean - look as good now as they did 3 seasons ago when I put them in.
That said, I'm planning on putting red/black leather on my 90 ZR-1 seats as a winter project next winter. Why not leather like? It's the perception of the feel and comfort, especially on longer trips, I guess. I just like the leather better, because it seems to breath a bit better. (Might just be a personal bias, as I continue to be impressed by the leather like covers in the C3.)
Well, I'd have to say the value of the leather like exceeds the 1/2 price point by a wide margin. Call the value to be 80-90% of leather...and that ain't too shabby for a leather competator!

They are called Weatherboots. I had to do some minor mods on the driver's side to get WOT with the boots and carpets. They do come in black and have to be painted.
