New wheels are on!
Put the new Cragars on along with Fuzion ZRI 255/50/17's.
The Cragars are 17'x8', 4.5" backspace, a perfect fit.
As you see, the Fuzions have a pretty good tread pattern:
And they are the same size as the stock 255/60/15 (looks shorter due to bald old tire!)
And of course, the stock 15" wheel vs. the 17" Cragar:
And here's the car with original & after shots:
Lastly, the person who bought my GTII's & my old rims once they were off the car put them on his 79, so I parked behind him to take this shot:
Thoughts?

You're gonna love the improved ride, quietness and handling of the modern rubber.

Sweet, look good.
How's the ride compared to old set-up?
Fit you say is perfect, so I assume everything clears ok? How close is the spring ends to the tire side wall? Pic from ground level showing the clearance?
All 4 the same size? Your first pic looks to me like 2 sizes, but might just be the angle the pic was taken.
I was thinking of doing the same thing with my car but don't know how chrome wheels would look on my '78 Silver over grey, might be "to much".

The wheels look awesome Dude! You should paint the calipers red to complete the look.

Thanks.
For a white or red car (like the OP) chrome would look best - IMHO.

I'm a fan of the original wheels and tires but I have to say your new ones look better in the before and after shots!

An "old school" look with modern tire technology - the best of both worlds! Nice choise.
