OK, I went and did it anyway.
I have been wanting to get rid of my faded and cracked original tail lights. Three years ago, I asked for opinions. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...-opinions.html
I didn't like the black rubber grommet ring on the truck lights, so I found these trim rings and ground them to fit. I just finished the install except the wiring, I'll do that tomorrow. A new set of tail lights is around $200 and I have never liked the color difference between the tail lights and the red part of the back up lights. I'm into this set up for around $120. No more concern about getting rear ended because of the dim stock lights.

I've never liked the black rubber grommets used with these lights. Those chrome bezels look great!
Very clean.
How/what did you use to shave the bezels down?

It appears your new tail lights (which look great, BTW!) are LEDs - you might have to change your flasher under the dash for the turn signals to work. There are some old threads regarding this.
