I have a 77 with ACI L88 hood, big block, Barry Grant Mighty demon carb and Performer Intake. I want to graft on the Eclklers fresh air chamber #10416 to the hood and go with the stock style drop base air cleaner setup to work with the fresh air chamber. Can anyone recommend through previous experience which year drop base unit will work best for the setup that I am trying to achieve? From what I can tell from searching previous threads all I have to watch out for is where the PCV tube comes out of some of the various years of drop base air cleaner bases and that will interfere with a 4150/4160 style carb setup.

My advice would be to check with ACI to ensure Eckler's air box will fit your hood. It should, but it wouldn't hurt to know that for certain.

Thanks for info Mike, I don't think I am going to have much choice with regards to the fresh air chamber though unless I fab one myself. The only ones I found where from Ecklers, but they do make two one for early style short hoods and another for later long style, so one needs to be careful there. I know what you are saying though I have read about a couple of other fitment complaints, but nothing to serious. I will contact ACI anyway as it had crossed my mind too do that and can"t hurt.

I also just came across another thread with another option for a drop base, it's the one 7t2vette is using and I think I found it being made by a company here in Canada, so looking into that too now.Below is the thread and it's the one in post #14
