Take care and take it slow. Before you know it, you'll be back on your feet.

Well, if you're spending time on CF then you're doing great. Glad to hear you made it. Since the leg is no longer "stock", have your Doc check the Zip website for poly knee bushings, titanium or stainless pins. Depending on the height of your spouse, now might be a good time to consider having them take an inch or two out. However, you'll have to do both legs in order to track straight.

It's good to hear you are going to be OK. Just keep on mind that the recovery process can continue for up to 18 months. So if your progress seems to slow don't get discouraged. Keep working hard. In the end you'll be glad you did. As others have said you will find another "dream" Corvette. Good luck with your recovery and good luck with your next Corvette.

So sorry to hear about your accident and injury. Our prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. Since you well enough to be back on the Forum, you can use that reccovery time constructively to find another Corvette to celebrate your recovery. Take care and God bless!

As someone who's been on the other side of an accident like that (doing the cutting), it's great to hear it had a positive outcome!

Wow - what a frightening experience! I lost an uncle in a t-bone crash, he never woke from a coma - so it is very good to see you are well enough to share your story first-hand! Hang in there, and don't give up the dream!

That really sounds frightening but it is wonderful you both survived and are getting good care. I have a friend who had a compound fracture leg and three surgeries later he is walking two miles a day and he was 76. I got two new knees Jan, 2009 so anything is possible.

I've always wondered how our positraction rear end vettes do on wet pavement. Have you thought at all about what made you hydroplane and spin? Any wisdom there from one with real firsthand experience?

thanks and very best wishes.

Survival is the attitude and mind set to stay in the fight. Sounds like you have it under control. Hope your nurses are better looking than the hefalumps I had for six weeks.

I feel your pain man. Been there with a severe multiple leg fracture. I'm just happy I still have my leg. No matter what....it could have been much worse. Good luck and remember......There is nothing like pain to make you realize you are still alive.

This is exactly why I don't drive my car if there's even a chance of rain in the forecast. I had way too many close calls in my old '81 Z28 10 years ago. and now that I have 2 other vehicles I have no excuse to take it out unless its dry.

But even in perfect weather conditions there's still a risk.
I was almost T-boned in my Corvette 2 weeks ago when I was taking a left onto a very busy main road and some lady in a van decided to pass the guy who had slowed down to let me out. If i didn't pull out full thottle I would be in the hospital now as well, or worse.

HOLY SHEET! Damn...what an experience. Glad you didn't get more hurt and I hope you heal up as good as possible.

Take care man!

qwank...the reason I'm asking is I only drive mine on dry days as well for the same reasons. However, May 5 I took it to VIR's road course and got to drive it several 25 minute sessions following a pro in a pacing car who ran his car up to 130 mph or so and really dug the 17 turns. I was a complete novice so it took me a while to get up to speed on the course and the car doing that but the key thing was we had dry weather. They run rain or shine and I was a little concerned about racing in the rain with positraction and did a thread on the racing area asking what people did....softer throttle and braking and less speed were the answers. The posi ain't the greatest in the rain was the message I got out of it. There's actually film of one of the laps as tho you were a passenger while I drove the car...improved lap times by more than a minute from first session and learned but am no race driver...once in lifetime deal.
