Default Question for convertible owners

Do you usually smell like exhaust fumes after a ride in your C3?

No. If you do, I would be looking into what is causing it.

I have at times 94 octane gotta love it. We have a plant here in town that makes things out of rubber, and some days just driving around there almost makes you sick. I would hate to smell like that, prefer the fuel smell.

No. Ditto for my coupe -- no stinko. If you smell exhaust, something is wrong.

I test drove one yesterday, it appeared to be in excellent condition but after a 5 minute drive with the top down, I smelled like fumes for the rest of the day. That woudl suck if that happened every time.

So NOT normal then?

Must have exhaust leak under the hood and sucking it through the firewall.

Well, if you have side pipes and sitting in traffic, it's a given.
