Default Radiator Support (pics)

Hi all

Could anyone advise me on what I need to do to this rad mount to make it fit a 69 clip.

I've removed the bumper brace on the front and have begun obtaining the brackets and extensions necessary

Mike's been a great help, ordered the AIM but its in a warehouse in CT along with loadsa other parts waiting to be shipped.

The car I'm working on has an 80's clip but its been mentioned that the bumper brace is a mid seventies one.

Hi B,
From what I see, and if I understand what you're doing, (putting a 69 front clip on your car?), you're going to need the 2 frame extensions and the front crossmember.
This will allow you to see if the core support you have will fit the 2 reinforcements in the fender aprons, and if the 2 lower nuts on the core support line up with the bolts that come up from below, through the front cross member.
Is this what you're trying to do?
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan

Regarding the extensions I imagine the lower part of the rad will be in the way of the crossmember. And if so what must I get to have the radiator in a more upright position?

If the cross member were to fit could I use the existing fender skirts once
I remove them from the other clip?

thanks

Mount the radiator support to the fender skirts.

What year are the skirts? If they are 73 and later, you do not want them for a 68-72 front end.

If your hard copy AIM got tied up somewhere, order one on CD. They should be able to mail your the CD version without much hassle.

Go here: http://www.glas-ra.com/rearhl1968thru1982.html Order both volumes (front and rear).

Until you can see how the car is supposed to come together, you're working in the dark.

I believe the bottom of the radiator will have to go back. The lower radiator hose tube will sit right on top of the stabilizer bar. The 69's have a lower tube that is indented for clearance of the stabilizer. That would move the bottom of the radiator back 2-3 inches or so.
