Actually, they used orange in the early '77 cars and since I have not disclosed my VIN # this is the correct color - that's my story and I'm sticking to it This isn't a restoration, but a "resto-mod". We're building this how we want it (within reason). While I think the corporate blue is OK, my wife and I decided together that we wanted the orange so here it is. I'm a hot rodder at heart and while we are building a cruiser, I still want to bring in some of that hot rod feel to it.
Sorry to all you numbers guys!

Actually my wife gives me shyte about painting my engine blue. She thinks it clashes badly with the maroon... and she of course is correct. I'm not a "numbers" guy either; in my case the engine is from a 1980 so I fugured it should definitely be blue. I hope you took my post as gentle ribbing, and not as a serious critique?

I pulled all of the interior out and started over on it. It was slapped in by the PO. None of it was fitting correctly and nothing was cleaned before putting new parts in.
Door panels now fit correctly and the carpet is starting to shape up. I put the belts back in (was light gray) for now. We'll update those when we make the switch to red interior in the future.

We are close to having everything back in. I hooked the battery up today and started testing some of the wiring issues that I was aware of before we gutted the engine compartment. Have some issues to fix, but we're getting closer to starting it up.

Adam--
The engine and compartment look great... Would not even guess it was the same car... I know you'll be pretty happy after you fire it up... Keep us posted...

SLOW DOWN . . . you're making the rest of us look bad. Seriously, great job. I know y'all are having a lot of fun with this project. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the results of your labor. Keep it up.
