Default true flex bumpers No SEAM

I was thinking about putting a 1980s rear true flex bumper on my 1975 corvette. I don't like the seam between the bumper and the body. Have many of you fibreglassed over the seam to make the body look like one piece?

I have done it on the front with a trueflex bumper. If you are going to glass in the seam get a fiberglass bumper. You will be better off.

I did it front and rear and I like the smooth look. No waves or seams.

I think it would be better to use a rigid fiberglass bumper, if your going to mold it in.

I did the front in fiberglass and will replace the rear bumper eventually.

Worth the cost and effort. It makes a world of difference in my opinion.

I did it to my 76.....very clean. Only wish Id have used rear bumber with spoiler. Guess I'll end up with a 78 pace car spoiler which is a nice look also.

So, once you have done this, you really cannot pull the body off again without cutting off the bumpers, correct? Unless you just don't install the actual metal bumpers on the car. Am I correct about this?

That is one nice looking Corvette
Everything just looks so right with it....great choices.....paint is (I'm speechless)

Can you also tell us what combo wheel & tire size you used to achieve the ride height that you have? IMO, it has the perfect stance for the C3.........thanks.....Tom

Thanks Tom I replaced the front coil springs with the 550lb springs from VB&P and used the 8" bolts to lower the rear. My car sat really high with the stock springs but the 550's dropped it a good inch and a half. The wheels are 18" x 8" with a 4" rear space so no modifications had to be made to the steering or suspension and the tires are 1/2" shorter than stock just wider. The only drawback is the wider tires follow the road which at times (construction mostly) can be a real chore to drive it since it wanders with every nook and cranny in the road but it handles better with a lower center of gravity and different spring rate.

Thanks for the reply......
This is what my 74 looked like when I purchased over 4 years ago. As you can see the ride height looks good in the pic. I would like to keep it that way. I also have the VBP 550 springs for the front, but am unsure about the ride as opposed to the BB springs that came with the Vette. I also have new Truflex front & rear bumpers to put on when I do the paint work. Again, yours looks great without the seams, this also may be a possibility for the 74, but don't know if I have the skills to accomplish this task. So it is something to think about.
My vision is to keep 15" rally wheels with PO2's and whitewall tires on the Vert, and going with a darker shade of Brown than what is already on there. But that may change to......
And to the OP "jay_c3" not trying to hijack your thread, also trying to get ideas myself. So are you going the seamless route? And what other changes do you intend to do with your '75? Tom

These are TruFlex; came out good, but I'd use fiberglass if given another chance...

What I did with the truflex is I added a few layers of fiberglass to the inside to firm it up some. The tru flex are thinner than the glass and you can grind thru it easily.

SSROADSTER no problem. I like seeing other peoples projects and see if they are interested with same ideas. QKZ ITS LOOKING SHARP I like the 80s bumper also with the built in spoiler and no bumperetts. 540 VETTE you information is what i was interested in hearing. So Truflex is more flexible but thinner so if i was going in the no seam direction the fiber glass bumpers would be better to work with. Thanks

Thats it. I have used both. Fiberglass on a 77 I had and the flex on the 80 I have now. Tru flex is thinner than the glass.
