I would say that it depends. If you are mechanically inclined, have access to or own a press, a dial indicator, and basic shop tools and all of your original parts appear to be in fairly decent shape then rebuilding them yourself will easily save you a lot of money.
I'm right at about $300 a piece for my rebuilds, and they look better than new. More importantly they are built to the tight end of the tolerance and I used top quality parts. There is a very good tutorial at www.digitalcorvettes.com in the C3 tech pages. Read it then you will have a very good idea on what is involved.

Default If you rebuild...

If you decide to rebuild, the best guy out there is Gary Ramadei. He is not a shop, but an enthusiest that will blueprint your control arms for you in his spare time. he is a machinist full time, so his skills are second to none.

He built me a Super 10 differential with 12 bolt internals, and upgraded my trailig arms with the Tom's 31 spline axles. I am pleased with his work.

He uses USA made parts only and is very particular about his vendors. He communicated well and sent me hundreds of pictures of his progress for my photo album.

He does not post on CF anymore because of conflicts with the moderators, but he is on Digital Corvettes a lot.

If you want to exchange your trailing arms for rebuilt ones I'd recommend Van Steel.
