Default Barrett Jackson 2012 Scottsdale....

Well the insanity starts again in Scottsdale. Funny thing is there are actually some decent deals on Tues and Wed night. One C3 that was interesting was a 79 L82 4 speed Vette that had 4 original miles on it. With buyers commission it sold for @ 40k!! A BB 68 Vette convertible went for 50k. I think C3 pricing may be moving up. Best bargain I saw was an 87 Buick GN with 15k miles that sold for 21k. The crazy money I'm sure will be there Thurs, Fri and Sat night. Quite a few nice cars in the 20-30k range though tonight.

Not a ton in the way of nicer C3 here. There's a 427/435 Monaco Orange that advertises $125 in restoration costs. It's pretty but is more "over restored" than correct in places. Can't wait to see the price on it.

Correction- $125k in restoration costs. Hard to type at the auction on my home.

PS. There's '67 black where the sign admits it has a color change and a "restoration engine" with restamp and broach mark work. It says it's "now matching numbers "

Uh, I guess he's up-front about it.

What used to be a Wednesday to Sunday event now starts with a very toney charity dinner last Saturday with a variety of events throughout the week - - the early week part of the auction almost seems secondary except that they've got 1300 cars to slug through.

Weather today through the weekend is forecast for low 70's with Sunday a slight chance of rain - - better than a few years ago when everything was a sea of mud and a couple of the other auctions nearby were slammed with "micro-bursts" and high winds that did millions in damage.

This will be a fun week at West World . . .

Did you see the body fitment on that 79???
$40K? What was that guy smoking? Who cares about 4 miles?
I realize factory fit and finish was not a high priority in the late 70's but that thing must have been assembled on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend.

The rear bumper looks like it's ready to fall off and the front bumper does not fit either.

The guy who spent $325K on that custom '62 must have been right at the 10 drink limit.

The hood looks like its working as a front spoiler....Does that get him better gas mileage?

It seems to be the year of the Camaro at B-J; lots of those; not too many C3s yet, but they may be saving the best for last.

I tried watching BJ, (Tivo is grabbing all of it) but there is so much fluff and so little car coverage that it is practically unwatchable.
