Real "L88" Hood

found another picture, this is a dealer installed L-88 with 200 miles on the odometer and the hood is GM...I merely transferred the 427 from ne hood to the other....the factory 88 cars didn't have shroud so the L-71 car was the logical choice and became a L-88 car...it was not unusual for dealer engine swaps back then.......and you could buy the necessary fuel at most gas stations. What was neat, it also had a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty.....The result is that I made my own with the options I wanted.....who would have thought that these 40+ year old cars would be worth anything today....`

Real hood or not
A real L88 hood will have the air box bonded between the two outer pieces of the fiberglass hood. It will also have a vertical piece of fiberglass between the top of the air box at the rear opening of the actual hood. If the air box is just "glassed-into" the hood, it is a fake.
