Default Momo Steering Wheel: retro

Does anyone have this installed in their C3? Was browsing through MOMO's website and came across this which has a similar spoke design to stock. Black leather with white stitching from what I'm reading.

Wow. Pretty. I would like to get more 'meat' on my wheel but don't want to give up the look. Looks like a good fit. I'll be interested to see if anyone has installed a wheel like this on their car.

I think it look great too. Is there an install kit that works with our cars?

Exactly - I got a billet specialties wheel from the swap meet, and do not have any way to install it. It seems as though the telescopic feature that Corvettes have is different than the rest of GMs line up.

it is different. Grant has an adaptor that works with their wheels and keeps the telescoping option.

Default Wheel

Well, I don't have a pic on my desktop that I thought I did, but if I find it I'll upload it.

Another alternative is this....

Go to Wal Mart and buy one of their $15 leather covered slip on steering wheel covers; the kind that has a rubber backing. That adds some pretty good "meat" to your factory wheel.

Then, go to www.wheelskins.com and order the cover of your choice. They're really a quality product. You have to sew them up, but if I can do it, anyone can. If you mess it up (like I did) the first time, call them and they'll send you new wax coated thread (one set is included in your order.

I bought the "four piece" perforated, but I wouldn't do it again unless I absolutely HAD to have two colors; I think just the one piece smooth would be a little easier to sew up.

You'd have to do some careful measuring to get the right width. I think I ordered 3 1/2" wide (but I can't remember for sure) and it covered the Wal Mart cover perfectly, and pulling the your stitching tight keeps everything in place really well.

I have a Momo Prototipo, no adapter needed, screws onto original hub on a 69.

I put a wheelskin on my 76 and I think it looks great. Not original but nice and the single piece was easy to install. I first covered the wheel with thin foam then covered it but I like the idea of flyls6 to put a cheaper cover on first.

Default Wheel

This is the wheel I was talking about, above. The slip on WalMart cover makes a great base. You just have to be careful with the sizing on the rap.

That's a nice looking steering wheel, I am wondering where you could get a nice C3 emblem to use for the horn button.

Hello,
I know that this is a thread from 2012, but does the Momo Steering wheel fit on the original Hub of a 71? Does anybody have Pictures of the above Momo "Retro" 360mm Steering wheel installed in their Corvette? Please post!

Thank you!

The Momo wheel is a 6 bolt design like the original hub and 'may' physically bolt up to the original hub, but the wheel will not be centered. I have a Momo Prototipo wheel on my '69 and I used an NRG short hub to make it all work.

They haven't been on the forum in 2 1/2 years... maybe if you sent a PM they might get an email to respond.
