Default Good Source for high quality locking gas cap for 69?

I bought one from a Corvette vendor and while putting it on, before tank was in the car, it came apart into a bunch of pieces, seems the three screws on the inside were too small for the mechanism.

They are taking it back and will credit my credit card as they do not have one in stock right now, I want to find a different brand, are there any American made ones?

I dont mind spending the money on a good one.

Thanks, Tim

I found the statement venting without and non vented with seal to be not true. I tried the same one and the garage smelled like gas in no time. There's a small vent tube near the center, plugging it didn't help the smell either. Maybe it was a bad batch...

I had a smell problem wife was sensitive to, it was not the gas cap, it was the replacement tank from previous owner....by now maybe 25 years ago, best guess.....if you pull the rubber water drip collar/hose off there you maybe look forward and left and find a oddball looking fitting on the tank, I covered with JB Weld and stopped the smell.....my charcoal canister is hooked up normally, but the valve at the canister is open all the time and hose to air inlet is fully functional....never been an issue...

Yeah, the cap I bought was cheap quality, chrome looked nice but literaly, just easily pressing it into place correctly it popped apart...so want to find the real deal or a real nice quality reproduction.

thanks for responding!

I plan on buying the one c69vete has!

I PM'd you.
