Hood Release on 1981
So I broke the hood release cable but got lucky that it broke after the hood opened.
So I puchased a new cable and figured it would slide right in but it gets stuck a few inches in. I have both ends of the cable so I know I got it all out.
It feels like its almost like something like tar in there. When coming from the factory did they full this with something to keep the fumes from coming down this cable?
Is there a trick to this?
Thanks

There is no trick, if you purchased the handle and cable only without the bracket and sheath the cable should still thread through the casing.... I'm not sure what is blocking you?

hook a drill with variable speed to it and see if you can get it to turn...then spin it slowly as you pull it out.
