Hi Mark,
I noticed your windshield date.
(Relatively early).
Is it LOF SAFETY PLATE, or LOF SAFETY FLO-LIGHT?
Regards,
ALAN

Lucky you. Your car was built after the strike so lining up numbers is relatively easy.
My fiancee's 71 was set to be assembled in September with all the appropriate August/September dates and codes on the engine.
Due to the strike, the time/build code is December 3.

Hi Mark,
My understanding is that the difference is in the manufacturing process.
In Safety Plate, (PLATE), each piece of glass is made individually.
In Safety Flo-Lite, (FLOAT) the glass is made in long continuous lengths that is then made into individual windshields.
The second method is a more economical method.
Regards,
Alan

Hi 73,
Not only is it interesting... you can trade that info for a free Big Mac at any participating McDonalds. But, only at the drive-up window.
Regards,
Alan
