1980 C3 Speedo needle broke. I have a new one, but how do I know where to position the needle on the speedometer? Is there a particular process or location where the needle should be placed?
I know the tach needle will go to zero upon start of the vehicle, but not sure if the speedo does the same thing or if there is a particular location where the needle should be placed.....
Similar issue here. Not to steal the thread, but related issue here.
On my '79, the speedo needle also just broke. Or shall I say I broke it?
The odometer trip reset button hit the speedo needle and snapped it in half. AT 0 mph, the needle touches the reset button stem. I glued the needle back together, but it no longer moves. The odometer still works correctly, as does the trip counter, but the speedo needle just lays at 0. Is there something inside there that I should look for or do I need to have the entire speedo rebuilt now? It seems weird that the speedo needle's natural position touches the reset button????
