There is a lot to know and deal with when installing a radio/audio system in a car. You've provided no information on the radio you have or the one you want to use. What is it's power output? RMS watts? What is the output impedence of the amp? What is its allowed impedence matching range? Do you just have the radio head unit or are you using a separate amp?
What kind of sound are you looking for? Rock music only? Audiophile quality? How much do you want to spend on speakers? Single speaker on each output line or multiple speakers (dash and kickpanel area)?
You give us no information. You want all the answers. But you want to be a wise@ss when we offer good sources of the information you seek. Good luck with figuring it all out. I, for one, have no interest in helping you out.

I have seen a thread in here where they were able to put a set of speakers behind the kick panels. as to be able to keep the clean look.... I do understand what you mean by the look of some of the covers... I have come to not like mine anymore. I Want a cleaner look one of these days, but for now these work great for me and have for almost 5 years., An old member from this site(durango boy) built me my sub box and I still have room to put my tops in the car..I actually have a lot of room still..

You can go up to 6.5" in the kick panels, but theres certain criteria that must be met in order for them to work. I believe a specific Polk Audio has been used by other forum members with no issues.
I'll chime in with what I did.
5.25" components mounted in the kick panels:
6.5" components and 5 channel amp on a custom made "cargo wall"
Life's too short for oem sound

I put Polk DXi 460s in the kick panels, but they fit behind the trim with no speaker grill showing. I ran self tapping screws into two corners, and at the bottom riveted a small tab, then ran a self tapping screw into it. I did the same thing in the back for DXi 690s. Riveted tabs to the car and then screwed the speakers to the tabs. The rear carpet covers the speakers completely, but don't impact the sound at all.
I plan on adding a 10inch sub, changing the receiver etc...

Some very cool options being posted here... NICE.
Dose, I would prefer speakers in the kicks as well, but with a clutch I was concerned that I would be hitting the speaker grille all the time. I see some that mount behind the kick panel which is very cool. I went with Sony 4way 4x6 speakers under the dash. They were reasonably priced and fit well without any interference under the dash. Also was able to keep the stock dash mounting "plate" which adds strength to your dash pad.

Any speaker you put behind the kick panels will be horribly muffled compared to one mounted on top. I know you don't care for the Polk grills, but you have to get the speaker cones out from behind the kick panels. I don't care how many tiny holes are in them. The magnets on these Polks fit perfectly in the bircage opening.

The interiors of these cars are so small that full range rear fill speakers are simply not needed. Put one or more subs only in the rear, and put a decent component set (seperate mid and tweeter) up front, at least 5.25". Put the mid in the door or the kick panel, and the tweeters in the dash. Don't waste your time or money on coaxial speakers in any size, especially the smallers ones. Think about it, when have you ever seen a decent set of home speakers with coaxial drivers? Always seperate woofer, mid, and tweeter. Buy a 4 channel amp with built-in variable crossovers, and run the front speakers off 2 channels in stereo using the high pass filter, and the subs either in stereo or mono with the other 2 channels using the low pass filter. Very simple system that will sound great.
I have a '72, and my rear window is always out, so I needed the shelf to still operate in case I needed to put the window in for any reason. Here is the sub box I built for a couple of Rockford Fosgate 10" Punch subs, the kind made for small enclosures. I can still use the rear window shelf, and the t-tops fit, barely, but they fit. These subs kick ***!
My amp is mounted on the back wall.
My Kenwood head unit, and you can also see where I mounted the bass eq control for the amp. The switches and indicator leds are for my electric fan and driving lights.
Where I mounted the cd changer.
The MTX 5.25" mids are in the doors, and the tweeters are in the stock dash locations.
The front crossovers are behind the kick panels.

Also I see you have red interior...
I want to go red and black I was thinking about this setup
Red-Seats, Trim Pieces and Center Console and instrument panel
Black-Carpets, Doors(maybe red insert), and Dash...
Thoughts anyone

I can't give you feedback yet - still working on the system. My experience with dash speakers are since the highs and mids are directional they come out pretty well since they "bounce" off the windshield. The lows will be from the rear. Sorry, that's not much help I'm sure, but the specs on these speakers are pretty good considering the price.

Those small touches are what give it a well thought out look. I'm actually wanting red and black interior as well (if we go with black paint). I'm considering black carpet with red floor mats and a red console etc like above.

Forget the dash speakers. Go with the Polk Audios in the kicks. Best speaker that will fit. Get some extra kick panels to cut and keep your originals. Ck. here.

I will get you the source for this. mike...

Hey Dose11 your familiar with my install.... It's OK...to upgrade I would have got a 4 Channel and ran some dash speakers and added some tweets in the kick panels......also a small sub in the jack storage maybe...
it sounds pretty good.....we hardly ever listen to the stereo anyway, But we have one now that you can't see at all and it sounds good enough for our use.....it's kinda of a trade off......either really good sound and no storage and modified look....or acceptable sound with a clean look and what little bit of storage you had to start with......well, good luck and have fun with it.....
