Wow....what a mess...!
Time to change my heater core, dynamat, reoflex, carpet, etc, etc....!!!!!
This is gonna take a while - and I'm going to be asking a lot of questions !

Getting the dash back was the worst job I've done so far - and that includes body mounts and trailing arm shims/bushings. Good luck
ps. I'm still looking for my TH400 "push button" from the top of the shifter rod.

tearing it out: not bad
lining it with sound deadening and heat reflecting: not bad at all, just time consuming.
making it fit back together: make sure there are no small children within listening distance.
It will be worth it in the end, however.

Hi MJ,
I believe you're looking for the "lower shifter seal" for an auto. trans. car.
The usual vendors have them, and it appears they fit cars from 68-76.
Good Luck with your interior!
Regards,
Alan

If you haven't allready tossed the old carpet pieces, you may want to keep them around for a while, they could make a good rough template for where to make holes for the seat tracks and a good starting point for trimming the new carpet.

What did you find under the seats? I ripped the interior out of my '80 a week after I purchased it. I found just over $5.00 in loose change (gotta love those Toonies and Loonies), two beer bottle caps, one ketchup pack, one empty condom wrapper (thankfully no used matching condom), matches, miscellaneous pieces of small paper and one Haynes manual with the front cover ripped off.

Nice to know I`m not alone in this insanity!

You are right where I started with when I got my car. I did not have the pleasure of taking it a part. Take each step as a separate project and it will seem more manageable and less overwhelming.
