This '69 has been for sale for a long at some dumpy Ford dealer in Northern Minnesota. It was listed at $27999 for about 2 years and they just dropped it down to$18999. Just wanted some of you fellow C3 heads to take a look and give some thoughts. Besides the luggage rack(IMO) and the goofy custom paint decor it looks pretty nice. No VIN # on the site though...

It looks nice from the pics for the asking price.
Paint looks driver quality and decent.
Interior looks unmolested. Radio replaced.
The jack is missing that will run you $250.00
The tray above the jack is also missing that will run you $45.00.
Miles if correct are good for '69.
Under the hood looks like everything is where it needs to be.
Should be a 390 hp configuration.
M-20 trans too.
If a factory BB not a bad deal.
$9,000.00 price drop????
Not corvette country up there??
Very possible they want it gone.
I'd offer $15,000.00 and go from there upon a thorough inspection of the frame and panels for rust/repairs.
Got a corvette buddy extra eyes are always good.
Buy the car not the story behind the car.
I don't care if Burt Reynolds fathered his 1st child in it etc.....
Salesmen argh!!!!
Everything else is avail from the vendors.
Hope I was of some help

The third row seat option must be special dealer added option. It must attache to the luggage rack.
If the frame and birdcage or OK it's at a reasonable price.

Color codes match. Seems like a decent price if it's an original, matching number 427/390. It would certainly merit an inspection to ascertain condition of paint, frame and originality as well as mechanicals. Not much info and more pics would have been helpful. Take a good look and maybe you can get some more detailed pics for us to help.

Hi,
Is it possible that close-up it needs just enough time and $$$ to make the selling price too high?
Regards,
Alan

Looks like a potentially nice 69. I don't see a deal breaker, but have them put it on a lift if you get serious.

The guy who owns it works at the dealership apparently. The man I spoke to claimed it's his "baby" hmm..
The owner comes back Monday so I am going to try and find out more from him next week.
Here's the VIN#

Spoke with a sales guy a few months back on this car. I passed, but was interested. For that price, I may of gotten it. he didn't want to fudge much when I spoke to him. Said they were selling for a guy...They also had a Corvette Club Specialists that gave it a high praise in his write-up/ inspection of the car, which the sales guy emailed me. Ask him for it.

I thought the A/C listing was funny until I saw the third row seat option.
The 70s pinstriping could be removed without too much drama, I think.
In this case, the numbers matching is the entire key to the value on this car. Rust condition pretty critical, too.
Pretty correct. Head rest covers are incorrect design. Colors match the trim tag.
From what I can see, look like a decent buy upon further review.

I got a dated jack for my '69 at Carlisle for $150.
The jack is nowhere near as expensive an issue as the missing smog system if you want to be super picky.
The tach redline is right. Love to see the numbers on the pad and block.

When I did check that car, got a detailed (somewhat) report on the overall condition, and the sales guy sent additional pics. Get them to help make your decision.
I thought the headrest looked correct, what am I missing? Is it the stitching?
A different 69

The car looks pretty original, except for the usual repaint and seat covers/headrests re-done. The mileage is not a deal breaker on any 43 year old car. Whether or not the engine and tranny match the VIN is probably not a deal breaker either at $19k. Neither is a lack of documentation. Rust in the frame and birdcage always is.
The $64k question is...what do you want to do with the car? How much money can you afford to spend on it? My guess is...the car will need a lot of work, mechanical included. It looks like nothing has been done to it, other than cosmetics. That bothers me. I can only imagine what the underside looks like, especially with those salted Minnesota roads.
BTW, that intake manifold should not be painted orange. Bubba has been there. What else has he messed with? Nothing like a big block red coupe though.

I am mainly looking for a driver, not too interested in a major project or anything, but am able to do the basics. If everything is solid on this one it seems like a helleva good price for a BB coupe. What's the third row seat option again? Still learning

In case you werent kidding, the 3rd seat "checkoff" on the ad apparently was as much a mistake by the seller as the AC.
