Default (78) How to install weather stripping on the T-Top

Normally, I would post pictures but for some reason, I dont have authorization to post attachments. Thus, if a moderator reads this, perhaps you can let me know why?

I dont have the car with me so I am relaying information from what my mechanic is telling me.

I want to install weather stripping on the T-tops. On the edges fo the T-tops where the windows roll up into, there is a a stainless steel plate with 4 screws in it. I believe the weather stripping sits inside this plate and is held on with the screws. (wish I could post a picture )

My problem is this plate has rusted out / and or / stripped screws. Does anyone make a repop replacement part or do you have any ideas for repair, etc.

The s/s plate is held to the top with those screws. The weatherstrip is actually adhered to the plate with adhesive. It is up to you if you want to pull those screws (pan head) and replace them and clean the plate. After the weatherstrip is in it would not be noticable.

You can post pics with a photobucket account.

Sorry about the pic situation. I just read somewhere that I could not post them.

Anyway, this is what I am referring to:
