I saw the threads title and wondered how many cats with red cars are glad it's not orange,
So I have to wonder do some owner of orange vettes have red envy?
cuisinartvette, is right and to add to it, I see a few orange vettes that are just stunning sweet looking really gives them a mean feel, then others are sort of cheap looking, I would love to figure out why it appears like that to me...

Well !!
Back in '73 when I bought my Monaco orange '69, I really wanted a silver car. Well a few years later, I painted it! Monaco Orange of course, the color just grew on me!! Now I wouldn't have it any other color!!!

In '69 Ply had a Vitamin C orange that actually had micro pearl in it, still one of the cleanest orange paint going.
I was looking a '69 camero last year that I thought was hugger orange (in pictures) but the owner showed me a picture of it beside a true hugger orange. Quite the difference. It was "whataburger" orange.
The fast food outfit. Very clean orange, I really like it.

I guess I was lucky and did not suffer from this "red envy" thing. If I had wanted a red vette I would have just painted it red.
The one thing I don't like about inferno orange is that in most photos, it looks like yet another red vette. In person, in the sunlight, it is pretty spectacular.

A buddy had a hugger camaro and it looked great orange,
But there you go what I think looks good the next guy might think looks like dog puke and vice versa,
I pretty much only chimed into this thread because I found the title funny, sort of a slap to any red vette owner, and perhaps a little back burner desire to actually have a red corvette...I am not really into the "hey look at me colors" my cars are always black so
But not to say I havent seen stunning vettes in lots of different colors..many stunning cars in this thread.....

If your going to shoot Hugger Orange, be sure to order the paint using the exact Paint Code, not the Name Hugger Orange......the reason in 2007 ford had a Mustang color called Hugger Orange.....its terrible.
I am as we type, painting my 74. I wanted orange and physically looked at a lot of orange cars, all makes including a 07 Mustang in Hugger Orange. I decided nothing looked as nice as the 1976 Corvette Flame Orange which I am blowing on my vette.

Advanced
Correct; (code 990) '69 Corvette Monaco Orange/'69 Camaro Hugger orange/'69 Pontaic GTO Carousel Red are exactly the same GM acrylic lacquer paint code which is what GM used in in those days. (Of course there are shading differences like all automotive paints.) And shading might not exactly be the same when using base/clearcoat, or single stage acrylic urethane with optional hardener.

[QUOTE=MalibuVLX;1581670864] I love the orange on the 1st gen Camaros, but orange on a Corvette is a little much for my taste. It reminds me too much of the General Lee. QUOTE]
I actually really like the "Fire Red" color used on '75 Vettes (I think). It is much more of an orange, and was the actual color used to paint the General Lee on the Dukes of Hazzard.

I personally have never liked anything orange except for juice. My plan for this car from the beginning was to paint it some sort of dark blue, but my wife has a orange bicycle and at some point during the build she got her bike out and washed it. I never really paid much attention to it but there was something about the angle of the sun or something that caught my eye. When it was time for paint I took the chain guard off, took it down to the paint store and they matched it. After seeing this car orange I can't imagine it any other color...it HAD to be orange. Orange is my wife's favorite color.
