Default "PITA" Annoying ticking!!!!!

I put a new cam in awhile back, Replaced the springs and rods, and put in elongated rockers. I have adjusted the lifters 4 times now!! And am still getting a annoying tick! I just took the tranny cover off(hoping it was maybe the flywheel hitting the cover) But It's still there. Sounds like its coming from the lifters, or maybe distrib.? But the car runs great! Is it me or can you hear it too? (took a vid.) Thanks....

when you adjusted them , running, did you back them off till they rattled, tighten them till the rattling stopped and then go another 1/2 turn? that should have stopped the noise. different makers have different spec's for their setup , and some of them sound like a sewing machines no matter what you do.

If I remember correctly, you installed a Comp cams XE268H, right? The Xtreme energy line of cams has a reputation for causing the valve train to have a "sewing machine" type noise. I don't have any actual experience with myself, of course, so I can't say from experience, but it may just be something you'll have to get used to.

Keep the shiny side up!

Thank you guys! I knew after the fourth time adjusting these damn lifters, that everything was the way it is suppose to be. But my motor never made this ticking before. I'll just have to either keep my foot on the gas more, or the radio louder. LOL.

A similar ticking in mine was a couple of pushrod guides. 14 of the 16 were 5/16, matching my pushrods. 2 were 3/8 and that's where the tichking came from.
