All covered in great detail in my Build Thread.

the 1970 model However, I could order the 350/350 engine and they would build it at the dealership into a LT1 by changing the cam, adding solid lifters and a bigger Holly. This was done and was covered by full factory warranty. Only one of two 69 Corvettes with LT1 engines documented.

I sold the car in 1979..it went through 4 other owners...and I bought the car back about 6 weeks ago. It's like driving a time machine

Interesting story. I always wondered why the LT-1 engine was listed in the 1969 Chevrolet Service manual. I figured maybe they planned the LT-1's introduction during the '69 model year but it was delayed for some reason. Was it listed as an option in '69 sales literature as well?

Glad to hear you have the car back.

My Lemans blue '68 Convertible and my friend's Lemans blue '69 Z-28. I bought the Z-28 back in the early 80's during my college years. Had it up until about 10 years ago when I sold it to my friend.

It's not that obvious, but there's a slight color difference between the '68 Lemans blue and the '69. The paint formulas are a bit different.

Given that it says he is from Grand Rapids, I would say the Grand Haven Light House would be a pretty sure bet. Next summer, I am gonna pull my Vette behind the gate on base and get a picture of my 79' with the Buffalo NY lighthouse.

Yes, Grand Haven Lighthouse last Sunday 10/28/12 before the big waves came. It was a beautiful day.
