Default Kudos To Tire Rack

Late last Saturday I ordered a set (4) of BFG 225-70R/15 T/A radials from Tire Rack (a sponsoring vendor). Yes, I am going back to the new equivalent of GR-70R/15s for my 1974 from my current 235-60R/15s. I did not expect to see much action for some time, especially being in Canada. I asked that the tires be shipped to a Northern NY UPS store where I would pick them up.

I caught an e-mail last night that remarkably said they had been delivered to the UPS store in NY from Connecticut. Think about that: processing and delivery in two days. This morning I drove south, across the border, and picked up the tires. They are now in my basement. WOW! What service.

My thanks to Ben and Sarah.

Any local, and reputable, tire shop can do that job. I know several including my GM dealer. They do C4, C5, And C6 wheels. Why do you ask?

I won't go into what my pre-retirement life was but it did demand a high level of competence. So I admire it when I still see it. And I don't mind rewarding it in a public Forum like this when I see it.

Pretty close to what I saw. But I had to drive 60 miles south to get them, and across a USA/Canada border after the Tire Rack e-mail notification of delivery. Certainly no complaint about that. The savings on shipping and brokerage fees were substantial by doing things this way.

Here is a reference for anyone who is interested.

I would be surprised you got anything less than good service from the Tire Rack. I have delt with them for years and on a fairly regular basis at work. Never a problem!

I think you made a mistake on your tire size, it should be P225-70R/15 that is the replacement for the GR-70/15 not the P225-60R/15.....

I'm runing the P225-70R/15 and my spedometer is accurate acording to my GPS...

Wow thats awesome. I'm going to have to look into doing this in the summer. Do you know of a similar American broker I can pick it up from closer to Niagara Falls? I live about 20 min from Niagara Falls Canada.

Got a question about the 235 60 15s. I have a new spare set of Radial TAs in that size which I am planning on using on my 73. I know the stock size is 225 70. Just wondering why you went back to the stock size, were there any issues as far a clearance or looks with the 235 60s ?

Thanks

Ulf,

Thank you for bringing that possible error to my attention. Fortunately it was just a typo (now corrected) in my original message. I do have the right size.
