Default I no longer own the last Stingray!

So they're bringing back the name. How do you 76 and prior owners feel about that?

I think it's a low blow marketing ploy by GM

Marketing was really the only reason it was used before. I laughed when they said that the name was only used for "special generations". So that makes my 76 more special than an almost identical 77?

I liked the stingray metal decal. I am still going to reserve final judgement until I actually drive one. That metal stingray is going to be glued unto a number of our vettes.

Just intercepted the feed on my FTA satellite dish. The C7 Stingray is one badazz machine!
I like the comment of how every gram has to earn its way onto the car. No mention on price though.

Absolutely. GM missed the boat on this one. What they should have done is released a special edition C7 with the "Stingray" logo attached to it - then charged an extra $25,000.00 for the privilage to own one. With great ideas like this, I should work for GM.

Maybe our Stingrays will rise in prices as we have the originals!! . They are spelling it Stingray and not Sting Ray. As with any other change people like it or don't...I think it's an amazing car that will smoke the competition. As it evolves and they add on different performance models it will be an icon as all of the other prior generations.

I love the car and I think it's cool they're calling it a Stingray.

Maybe they'll drop the name halfway through the generation and later owners will be flamed for adding the emblems...

Maybe it's just me but I'm not too fond of using Stingray/sting ray for even our year corvette's....

Just too broad a term that to me doesn't mean a whole lot. Especially when people who have no clue about corvettes use the term when I'm 99% sure they're usually talking about the 63-67's

Me- I have a '69 corvette.
them- O. Is that a stingray?
me... well yeah but that doesn't really narrow down which model it is...

Maybe if it denoted a different performance package or look like the GS or ZR1....

So true!

I like the C7 - and see it as the other generations, an evolution of the car.

well the Stingray was never a special edition to begin with, (although a lot of non Corvette people think they are a high performance model) so I think it's right that they are using the name on the base model. But it's still a catchphrase to sell cars.

We were so confused already, and now this! So a 67 is a Sting Ray, 2 words, and a 69 is a "Stingray" 1 word, and a 68 is neither Sting Ray nor Stingray because it doesn't have the badge, and now the 2014 is a Stingray.... again...
