Sounds like rear alignment to me, but others with more experience will chime in.
thanks but i think it might be more then that it feels like i am about to loose control making smal slight turns at speeds of 40 45 miles. it feels like the rear nd is coming loose

If the alignment is off, the rear end will really want to come around on you, even in a moderate turn at those speeds. I had this experience on a 70 I once had. Had the alignment checked and needed to change the rear wheel toe-in. Once that was set, the problem went away.
Trailing arm bushings, strut arm bushings, loose rear bearings, bad shocks (in that order) are things you should check if the alignment checks out. Don't ask how I know...
Absolutely. Any rear wheel toe out will scare the pants off you. It may just need an adjustment but check to make sure everything is as it should be first. These are very old cars we are talking about.
If so, they should still accept the stock size bushings.
Let me know, and if you have any pictures of yours and maybe stick a caliper on your bushings and let me know the dimensions, I can check to see what size bushings we have here, see maybe if they will work!
